The Institute is an official college partner of ZeeMee

What’s that mean?

This week we launch our official Institute community on ZeeMee -- an up-and-coming staple app for upper-level high school students to get a taste of their future college. According to my conference call with ZeeMee co-founder Adam Metcalf, 89% of Gen Z students want to connect to their college community before arriving on campus. ZeeMee makes it possible. ZeeMee is free to students. While every college may have students chatting on a channel about them, some schools (like us!) want to make use of that full potential by engaging with their students through ZeeMee, officially.

I had the privilege of explaining the benefits of the app to Institute President Gregg Garner, who was loved the idea of connecting prospective students this way.

Students can cultivate their profile, enter group chats, and receive regular behind-the-sceens info from their college.

What can you do on ZeeMee?

  • Join group chats with other prospective students

  • Ask questions to college officials

  • See posts (much like instagram, but without the algorithms) from colleges you're interested in

  • See behind-the-scenes posts from current students

  • Fill out your profile, including college choices, majors, and interests

  • Join group chats based on interests (the Bible study chat consistently ranks the highest of all chats on ZeeMee!)

  • Attend "live events" put on by the colleges you follow

  • Find friends, roommates, and study buddies

  • Participate in live chats with campus departments

  • Attend fun social events like speed friending or trivia '

  • Ask questions via the "Ask a Student" chat channel

    and more!

ZeeMee has thousands of five-star reviews from hundreds of thousands of high school students. We hope you enjoy ZeeMee and it helps you gauge whether The Institute (or any other college) is the right fit for you and build friends as you go!

See you on ZeeMee!
